Transaction fees are paid by the sender (the party funding the transaction). The fee is charged once when the transaction is funded.
When is the fee charged?
The full transaction fee (1.5% domestic or 2.5% international) is charged a single time at funding. Once a transaction has been funded, the fee is non-refundable.
Is there a cap on transaction fees?
Yes. Domestic transaction fees are capped at $1,500 and international transaction fees are capped at $2,500, no matter how large the transaction.
What happens to fees if a transaction is cancelled?
The protected principal is refunded according to dispute resolution outcomes, but the transaction fee is non-refundable once the transaction has been funded.
Are international payments supported?
Yes — Holdyn supports international transactions at a rate of 2.5% (capped at $2,500). Choose 'International' when creating a transaction to see the exact fee breakdown.
